Train Up A Child

We can become so busy that we can forget how we impact our children. We make time for everything around us, but we overlook and neglect the ones in our lives who looks up to us, and see us as their heros in their lives when we are parent. We have a lot of responsibilities: work, meetings, children, school, electric, water and house notes, car notes, medical bills, family issues, and lack of finances. These things can become so overbearing that we can become so consumed in them that we miss the most important things in our lives. God, our family, children, siblings, and parents.

Life's storms can cause us to lose focus of our families and allow them to go astray. Yes, we love God and want to please him. But we must remember that God holds us as parents accountable to "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6.

This picture reminds me of this scripture and shows us how our children want to be so much like us. This little boy is willing to wear the same things as his father and to ride on a pony. It doesn't matter to him how small the pony, it is the fact that he is with his father and happy to be riding with everyone else. If our natural children desire to be so much like his natural father, and want to do the things as his father.

How much more should we want to be like our Heavenly Father? We should want to take on his attributes and characteristics of the Holy Spirit and walk in the Spirit and operate in the Spirit of God as he did when he was walking with the disciples.

This is powerful task God has given to every parent. Look at how they pass down their heritage to their children and walk in what they enjoy doing. It is imperative and our responsibility to pass down our heritage to our children so they will understand, who they are and who God desires them to be in him.

This is not only about talking to them, but it is more important that we live the life in front of them. Be a role model to them so they will have a desire to seek after what we have gained in Christ. Children learn from example and we must be that example to them that will lead them to the truth and show them how to address every issue they are confronted with in their lives.

Today, children have so many challenges. The World has changed so drastically and is still changing that they can be confused by all of the things that the World is now dictating to be right; but in reality it is not how God intended for man to live. Man has become so consumed by his own pride, selfishness and desires that these things have overtake him. Now this stronghold is controlling all of his ways it doesn't matter what is right; it is now about what I want and what I need now.

It is time for us to pull our families together by Prayer, love and the Word of God. Without the love of God, we all would fall into the traps of sin. God came and set us free from the grips of sin. We must walk worthy of the Word of God so we can encourage and impact those who come into our lives looking for a change and wanting to change their ways..

Children need always our need guidance because of their innocence which allows them to only see good in everyone. They only see a small part of the picture and do not see the whole scope of the picture. They can't see the traps, the intentions of those who connect to them to cause them harm, nor can they see that if they take this path the end of that road will bring destruction to their lives.

They need us to be there for them and they need to know that we love them, in spite, of their mistakes. Unconditional Love is what we must give them because they love us so much. God loves us so much that he gives us unconditional love. Even when we fail him, he loves us. We must make sure they know we love them, even though, they may have disappoint or not obey our instruction. Remember the Worf of God tell us, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins." I Peter4:8 (NIV). In other words, it forgives when other do not understand how you forgave them because in their mind it was unforgiveable. But when you do it God's way nothing is too hard for God to do in your lives.

Be mindful of your children and train them now. Don't allow the school system, teachers or anyone else tell your children something that you do not believe. If we teach them, they can discern what is right. If they train them, they will be caught up in all the wrong things headed down the wrong road. Help your children by teaching them what is right. Train Up your Child and you will be happy with the results.
