What's In A Word?

Words are powerful! We do not realize the power a word holds. We have used words so loosely that we no longer take any thought of the things others say or what we are speaking. God spoke the Word and it form and created the World.

Then he gave us power when he said, "Death and Life are in the power of the Tongue", Proverbs 18:21. The words we speak influence, attack and can bless someone.

When we speak words to afflict others, we bring judgment on ourselves. Causing others pain by being abusive with the words you say displays a selfish spirit and reflects the brokeness in your own spirit. This is how one acts when you want to control and impact others with grief. Afllicting pain, agony, fear, control and shame with words towards others are all characteristics of walking in the flesh. This is a common act to perform because this is natural because we were born into sin.

Matthew 18:6 - But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

You see when you kill the spirit of an innocent person for no reason at all the scriptures tell us, "whatsoever a man sows that he shall also reap". Galatians 6:7 KJV

One wrong word can change your mood and attitude for the whole day. Have you ever walked in a room and someone spoke to you and said the wrong thing you? This one word knocks you into a whirlwind of frustration, sadness, and making you feeling like you've gotent up on the wrong side of the bed. Or maybe you should not have gotten out of bed at all. It is like a slap in the face and you are left bewildered and perplexed. This is why we must be careful of what we say and how we speak to others.

One right word can catapult you to the mountain top. There is something exciting about getting an encouraging word that inspire you, elevates you and escalate your mind to a place of joy, peace and happines. Words can inspire you or destroy you. Be careful who you allow to speak into your life.

Stop allowing others to call you something that you know you are not. We must make it known to them that we are not and do not agree with what they just called us. People love to talk and alway way things that put us down when they are talking to us. Matter of fact, we are so use to people talking to us and insulting us while talking we no longer catch it or pay attention to what they are really saying to us.

It is now time to stop the enemy from sowing seeds of discord into our spirit unconsciously. We have become numb, and fallen asleep to the words being spoken to us daily. The sower sows seeds of discord in our spirit but we have becomed deaf to what is being spoken. Then we do not understand why we can't stop doing things that are outside of our character. It is time to put a stop to all of the negative words being spoken into our lives from those who have silly nicknames (but they are offensive and out of character for you), words that are offensive to you or reflect a negative spirit of you.

Roman 13:11 "And knowing the time, that now it high time to awaken out of sleep; for now is our Salvation nearer than when we first believed." KJV

Remember, when we have been born again (and declare Christs as our Saviour), there should be a change in our lives. We should no longer speak and do the things we have done while in sin.
