Seven Steps to Living a Consecrated Life
Mark 1:9-15
Step 1: Decision:
First we must make the decision that we do not want to continue to walk in the direction we are going; especially when it is out of the will of God. There was a very decisive and important step in the Life of the Lord. He forsaked all earthly, human ties and was the perfect surrender vessel to the will of his Father. He came and his decision was to fulfill his Father's Will.
We too must come to the place where we make the decision to surrender everything in our lives over to him to do his will in our lives.
Step 2: Accepted:
As a sinner we must surrender ourselves to be saved; believe we are his sons, and yield ourselves to God's service. We must submit ourselves to him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable Romans 12:1 vs. kjv By doing this we know he has accepted us as his beloved.
Step 3: Annointing
The spirit was as a dove descending upon Jesus at his baptism. In order for us to receive his annointing we must make sure our life has been wholly devoted to God. When we give ourselves completely to him we will receive his annointing and his presence will be upon us.
Step 4: Assured
Jesus was assured when he heard his Father in Heaven saying, Thou are my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. We are assured when he speaks to our spirit and let us know we are his child and he has us covered and he has our back.
Step 5: Impelled
The Holy Spirit immediately drove Jeus into the wilderness. The Holy Ghost in a consecrated life is a mighty controlling impulse and it authority is from God regarding the soul and your walk with him. The Holy Ghost will lead you and guide you into all truth. There are times when
it will come upon you and it seems that you life has been turned upside down; but it is only driving you in the direction you need to go to get you to the destination he has ordained in your life.
In a consecrated life, the Holy Ghost holds the reigns of our life and gives us direction, guidance daily and we are no longer our own. We belong to him and our ways will no longer be accepted; we must be sumissive to his voice and his Word. God will begin to work in the heart of of his children to give them instruction, joy, peace and strength when the weight of the world is working hard against you.
Step 6. Tested
Jesus was driven to the Wilderness and tested. Once you have been baptized and filled with his spirit this is when you find that Satan challenges your walk. This is because now you have become a danger to him because of the power and knowledge you have received. He knows it will affect him being able to gain souls. We must be tested so he can reveal his power to us and allowed us to see how God has given us power to tread upon the enemy and be victorious! We will never know what we have received from him if we have never been tested.
Step 7: Testify
Jesus came from conflict to a victor through the annointing of the Holy Spirit. He preached the Gospel of the Kingdom. When we go through much conflict and if we have the Annointing of the Holy Ghost; we should come out victorious and witnessing of his goodness. When you serve the Lord and live a life for him you will want to tell everyone about how good he has been to you and how he delivered you out of the hand of the enemy.
