Longing For More of God
Psalms 84
My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God 4 vs. Blessed are they that dwelleth in thy house; they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5vs. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Have you ever been in a place where you desired to have more of God in your life? It may seem as though you can never be satisfied because once he blesses you the desire grows for more and more of him. It is like being thirsty. When you are thirsty and you begin to drink a glass of cold water, you feel as though you can't get enough water and all you want is more cold water. The thirst feels unquenchable. This is how it feels in the spirit. When we want to be close to God and want more of his presence; this desire causes us to want to feel his presence because of the joy we receive in his presence.
When you have this desire and we longeth for more of God, we will find that studying the Word of God will help satisfiy and quench this thirst and allows us to be in fellowship with him. In this fellowship, we learn more about him and about him. In him we gain strength when we live according to his word.
The bible says, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadows of the Almighty. Psalms 91:1 vs. kjv
Dwelling in his presence gives us strength in our time of trouble. There is such a sweet spirit that overtakes your heart and fills it with so much joy and happiness.
Seeking God with all of your heart and learning to yield to his spirit brings us the peace that surpasses our understanding. Having a strong desire for more of God pushes us to deeper level in him.
